Hi everyone. The pictures look great! I haven't seen the band perform since I was there. Hmmm that was a long time ago Lol! I hope to see all of you this upcoming football season. Keep up the good work.
I heard your stunning performance of Vaclav Nelhybel's Symphonic Movement on You Tube. I performed this piece forty years ago under Nelhybel's direction. Your interpretation is exactly what he wanted to achieve musically. I'm so pleased to see young African American musicians play so well. You have a fine ensemble and you look and sound great. Bravo!
Send some of these fine students to us here at the University of Michigan.

I was a member of the marching band and the symphany group in the '70's. It was the greatest time of my life. I hope it is for you as well. Contine to do good and as we would say...wwtwdt!
Hi! I'm an OLD SWD Band alum, from way back in the 70's. Just wanted to write a quick note about how proud I am for having been a member. Now, I'm so old that my daughter marches in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, for the University of Tennessee. Be proud of your roots, guys! I promise you you'll never forget these years!
